Elder Care Support

For Asian Immigrant Families

When caregiving feels heavy, lonely, and hard to explain

The Quiet Weight of the “Responsible One”

Many Asian immigrant families care deeply for their elders while quietly carrying an enormous load. You may be coordinating medical care, translating complex information, and managing daily needsโ€”all while holding family expectations together, raising your own children, and working.

If you feel tired all the time, emotionally stretched, or unsure how much longer you can keep doing things this way, you are not alone.

What is the “Care Roadmap”?

The Care Roadmap (Consultation)The Anchor (Therapy)
Focus: Practical Strategy & NavigationFocus: Emotional Sustainability & Support
Structure: A one-time, 2-hour intensive session.Structure: Ongoing weekly or bi-weekly 45-55min sessions.
Best for: Families in a “Math Problem” crisis. You need a surrogate frontal lobe to organize medical jargon, insurance, and care logistics.Best for: The caregiver who is “internally buried.” You have the logistics, but you are drowning in guilt, anger, or exhaustion.
Result: A concrete, written care plan.Result: Emotional clarity, boundaries, and a space to be “seen.”

What is the “Care Roadmap”?

After our 2-hour intensive, you won’t just leave with “things to think about.” You will receive a written clinical summary designed to be your family’s anchor.

The Roadmap includes:

  • The Clinical Snapshot: A clear summary of your parentโ€™s current medical and functional needs.
  • The Priority List: Identifying what needs to be fixed today vs. what can wait until tomorrow.
  • The Resource Compass: Hand-picked referrals for home care, legal aid, or medical specialists tailored to your family’s language and culture.
  • The Sustainability Plan: Concrete boundaries and “Living Goals” to protect your own mental health.

How I Work With You in therapy

Caregiving in immigrant families is rarely just about tasks; it carries history, culture, love, and obligation all at once. My work sits at the intersection of Medical Complexity and Cultural Responsibility. I don’t offer generic “self-care” advice. I offer a clinical partnership to help you build a sustainable life.

  • Respectful of Culture: I understand the unspoken expectations of Asian immigrant dynamics without judging them.
  • Grounded in Reality: We won’t focus on “perfect” solutions, but on workable ones that fit your actual life.
  • Collaborative: I walk alongside you as you make difficult decisions, providing the clinical “rudder” when the waters feel choppy.

Take the Next Step

You donโ€™t have to have everything figured out to reach out. Whether you need a 2-hour deep dive into care planning or a consistent space to process the emotional load, we can start with a conversation.
